Moved to the town earlier this year. I use Australia Post a lot due to having a small eBay business, which is important to me as it's my bread & butterr, especially as I'm disabled and find it hard to attain employment. Mount Barker post office is seriously insufficient for the population of the area. The staff are for the most part incredibly rude & impatient, even though it's the customer $$ that's keeping it running. There's really needs to be another Australia Post agency on the outskirts of the town. I literally HATE having to use the Mount Barker post office. The premises are far Too small, many times I've gone there and there's waiting lines going out the door!! Also staff are reluctant to help with cheaper shipping costs or options, I never had this problem with my last place of residence - local post office, chalk & cheese compared to the Mount Barker post office. My only advice to staff is if you're that unhappy with a job where you have to deal and help the general public and locals, then leave !!

Poor delivery, close to knock off time ‘5pm’ and he obviously hasn’t made his delivery’s, rather than trying to knock on doors or get our attention… while we are keenly waiting for our parcel, we are notified that nobody was home for delivery and the parcel had failed to be delivered. Meaning we now have to wait till tomorrow to pick up ourselves…

Negative experience while picking up a carded item at approx 7:00am. I would describe the vendor as ‘Miss Trunchbull’ from the movie ‘Matilda.’ Highly abrasive and off putting. I would strictly advise avoidance if you don’t want your day ruined.

I see some other complaints here too with the photos. Waited in Q for more than 20 mins (We were the only ones in Q,except for the people being helped at that moment). they took the photos of the people in front of me six times and printed six times and then again said no they will need to retake and reprint again.... that is when I upped and left.... truly amazing service...

The 3 stars are for the staff which are helpful and friendly as you'd hope or expect. I've left off 2 stars in protest at the shopping district. It obviously was NOT designed to cope with the amounts of traffic Mount Barker is increasingly seeing. The town has in recent years become stressful to drive around. It's small streets choke traffic and yet the council is trying to cram in as many new houses and residents as it can. The shopping district is comprised of tiny streets, bottlenecks and traffic redirections. At some point the council is going to have to look at relocating the shopping district to a newly built area with new multilane roads equipped to deal with the large volumes of daily traffic.

Service in the past was shabby indeed. There has been an improvement this Christmas. Infact it was un nerving not to have my head snapped off. Trick is to keep the transaction up beat and take into consideration these old gals are worn out. It cant be easy there. The manager was walking out the back door shutting up shop for the day. He returned inside and gave out parcels to several late customers. Thankyou you made our Christmas. Take your life into your hands with the car park. The new post office should never have been situated among cholesterol corner fast food. Better off in the main street originally. Need to re think that 1.

Not my local Post Office, only been instore 3 times and EVERY TIME I get the worst service. The women that have served have been so rude. - rolling of the eyes (because I asked about a product) - annoyed sighs because my package I was picking up was large and told to use a Parcel Locker in the future - annoyance because I had several and wanted certain stamps I'm a very happy, friendly person and each time I leave I feel horrible because of the was I'm treated. Don't get that at my local post office! Horrendous!

Great customer service! Staff at the post office are still upbeat despite management's decision to move to a terrible location. Less parking, harder to access and far less variety in items to purchase in store. How management decided to choose this location instead of the new Foodland complex may never be understood...

Great staff customer service, however the location has gone from bad to worst, furthermore in store products should have a larger range as per other expanding stores/towns. The new 11 Walker Street location has poor access and minimal car parking. AustPost you should be in the new Shopping Complex at 2 Victoria Crescent (Hutchinson Street), due open November 2017! Come on move with the times...
