They charge you for things that normal other post offices wouldn't, and they refuse to make colour copies for certified documents, in order to keep their costs down. Stingey, poor service. The lady manager who served me was complaining to me about running the business. Great to see.

4.44 pm and it's already closed. Open until 5 pm is clearly not happening in this post office. I saw another 4 customers being surprised about very early and weird closing schedule. What a customer service. Firstly, my delivery wasn't dropped off even I was at home all day and now you can't even pick it up since closing time is probably based on mood of God knows who... Update: This place was apparently (according employees of another branch of AUS Post Office) closed for more than a week. They had no idea why either.

I work from home so naturally I’m always at home during business hours and for whatever reason, I still keep getting Parcel notes to pick up items from the post office?! Why not just ring the bell?! One time I saw the dude not even getting off his bike and writing one of those notes so I came out - he was highly awkward for the obvious reason! I’ve reported this issue few times in person. Aus post, please check who was servicing Hanbury street on 24/12/2021 and that will point you in the right direction which driver was that.

I was a bit surprised reading all the bad reviews here. Things have definitely changed. I've been coming to this PO regularly over the last 6 weeks. The team have always been so polite and helpful. Jocelyn (I hope I remembered her name correctly) went above and beyond helping me get a PO Box when my online application didn't process. I'd encourage all the Mayfield locals who have left bad reviews to give this post office another go.

Showed up at 4:53 to be exact knocked on the window whilst being ignored whilst saying we still clearly have 7 minutes. People rely on your business to be able to receive mail for there own businesses I clearly showed early and was ignored by the locked door whilst two staff member stayed laughing. I will be in tomorrow to tear shreds of them (in a pc professional manner) we will see who is laughing then I have photos proving the time I was there and will be showing them to the management

Lots of bad reviews. Must be new people there now. The lady who served me yesterday was very helpful when I asked for a quote to send a parcel. She even came out from behind the counter to show me the packaging I could use. There was no lineup of custmers but she was the only person behind the counter at that time.

Unfriendly staff, too serious without even smiling while dealing with their customers. I admire pride in everyone's work but in their case it was arrogance that is present as if they are all knowing and clever in dealing with my stamp and getting my photo. They are not helpful as well. I live in the area few blocks away but need to go to Waratah Post Office to find the service that i want and welcome atmosphere that should be in every PO but not in Mayfield. I care about my local PO and i hope they make changes on the staff out there who do not have the customer relation skills as the other post reviews had mentioned. More power AUSPost.

Some of the rudest staff I've ever met. Don't know how most of them are still hired when the service is obviously garbage and treat you like a burden. I drive all the way out to Glendale just to avoid this PO and where the staff actually care about their jobs and customers.

This is the second time in a row I have gone here on a Saturday only to find a sign on the door saying that they took the day off for "unforeseen circumstances". Surprisingly, these two consecutive visits were several weeks apart and the experience was the same. The Australia Post website states that they are open on Saturdays until 12:30pm. If you need to call them, you will have to call 13 13 18, which just goes to some random call center. Prior to these two experiences, I found the staff to be extremely cold and unwelcoming. If you intend to go to Mayfield PO on a Saturday, make sure you get there early and have a plan B. If you are using public transport, make sure you have all morning to find another PO before they close.

Worst post office in Newcastle. The waiting time is always horrific. You shouldn’t have to wait half an hour or more to buy a postage stamp or to just buy a prepaid satchel (which is what a 1 minute transaction?) while the staff have a gossip behind the counter.
