While the workers at the desk are lovely, their delivery drivers are the worst in Canberra. They routinely drop packages back to the post office instead of trying to call through on the intercom and I've had to arrange pickup from the post office over half a dozen times in the last two months, despite having been home for the delivery. They also send their delivery timeframe texts well after the delivery window has started (sometimes up to an hour late) and don't always provide notifications that the delivery has been "unsuccessful". Due to their opening hours only going until 5pm it's also pretty difficult to leave work and get there on time. When you submit the feedback they close the tickets off without contacting you. Paying postage for local delivery is a waste of time - you may as well go and get the item yourself because you'll just end up picking it up from the post office anyway.

I use this post office quite a lot. Staff aren’t overly welcoming, friendly or helpful, and I have witnessed some poor response to other customers, but I’ve never really had a major issue myself and always got what I needed. However, I was left quite an abrupt voicemail this morning (November 1) saying I had a parcel to collect that was due to return to sender today. All the emails I’ve received from Aus Post have said I had until November 4. As someone who works 7am-6pm during the week and has had a number of commitments over the weekend, getting to a post office with such short opening hours can be tricky. I knew I had, according to all emails, another 4 days to get there and pick up my package. I’m not sure if it was a miscommunication or something, but I really didn’t appreciate the message that I was left this morning and being told they’d “hold it” for an extra day, even though it was meant to be there for another 4. Even if it was an error on their part, they could’ve been nicer in the way they spoke. If you need to use this post office, it’s fine. But if you have a choice I’d honestly say find somewhere else. I think the team at this site need some communication and customer service training.

Very annoyed with my experience with the post office. The opening hours are very short and it is closed now on Saturday. It isn't very organised as most times I've been there. I went there on a Saturday and there was a poster on the front saying it was closed even though a paper slip I got said otherwise. Another time, I waited 20 minutes for my parcel because they put the wrong label on it. You have redeemed yourself a bit because of the 24/7 parcel pick-up lockers but the rest of the experience is bad.

Came for passport photos and renewal. Was turned away after 15 mins in line - apparently their EFTPOS system was down nationwide and they don't accept cash transactions over $100. No signage to indicate the situation before you wasted your time in line. No help from the staff apart from "come back another time"

Third time I have had them tell me a parcel wasn't there when it was. One parcel got returned, the others involved insisting they check several times. Once I got "lucky I checked again!" Not great customer service - get the vibe that staff don't want to be there. Worth getting parcel locker. The machine at the locker bank is politer and always has my parcel

Tried to return a parcel twice. Both times it was returned. No responsibility taken by Australia Post for non-delivery. No refund offered, with blame simply shifted to overseas carrier. Typically, when a service provider fails to provide a service, the customer doesn't pay! Not with Australia Post. $120 later. A no star experience. Lesson: use independent courier service.

2022 September: Very rude and ignorant staff. I should have rated 0 if there is an option. They were not trained how to a treat customer I reckon. The old lady talked to me like that “I did not call you, the line is over there! Oh my gosh!” Then I have been asked to line up at the side to get called with my kids. I don’t know if I have been treated unfairly or something else. 2022 January: The least helpful and respectful staff I have ever met in Australia. I was here asking for an id check. The only 2 year employed staff member refused do so, said “don’t want do it, it’s my personal choice”…

Old lady with highlights and short hair bullying younger staff. Ordered this nice lady around,, and she didn't even say a word. Said things like, "NO! I said, GET RID OF THE TAPE!" "Get rid of that" "Tick this box" "Do this now". That is a horrible way to treat staff! Auspost is where I've seen the worst service in my life, and some of it even happens internally in its system. Gosh. Not okay.

The girls at Dickson Post Office are the most amazing patient positive people and they are always so nice taking care of your packages til you pick them up, since you have to use the parcel lockers or pickups since they all get stolen now if you get them delivered to your home.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The staff at Australia Post in Dickson are the most horrific people I have ever come across. As a young girl, I was extremely intimidated by all of the women working as soon as I walked into the door. When I explained I didn't know the process of posting mail, I was scoffed at and they rolled their eyes at me. I was patronized for not bringing my own pen to fill out a form and told not to give it back. The lady's name starting with the letter G was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I left the shop in tears and was dumbfounded at the extreme lack of customer service, the women having not displayed any sort of empathy or compassion. I will never be returning again and have informed friends and family of my horrific experience. Please be better.

Had to use dickson outlet to complete a WesternUnion transaction. Staff member Ked? ,she wouldn’t provide her name, was extremely adamant on overcharging me and quoting $70 for a transfer that western union quoted only $12. I stood my ground until Ked, backed by supervisor Lyndal, admitted their mistake. I have lodged formal complaint about this unethical and unprofessional behaviour. Why were they adamant on ripping me off when I had proof from western union on my phone for transaction fee. The ladies were condescending and could not stand that I was questioning their unethical approach. To be honest, I felt I was being discriminated against as I have Asian appearance! Why were they so unwilling to help when I wasn’t being disrespectful or abusive? They threatened to call police on me when I demanded an explanation. Disgusting representation of essential service like Australia post! Please employ staff that are not prejudiced and racist!

Easy and convenient location to find. Within walking distance of Woolworths and a few other business. Making it an idea location for picking up parcels etc before or after shopping. Staff where very friendly and helpful. I'm unsure of the name of the staff member who served me today but she was very cheerful , understanding and patient. Definitely recommend using Dickson Post Office for any postal or other needs they may be able to help you out with :)

Please note that the post office stop passport work 4:40 pm even though the post office is open till 6pm. Really frustrating when you're trying to schedule your workday and organize things like this.....hope this helps someone :)

Staff are nice but the queue is 20 people deep on a Friday afternoon with only three staff. No exaggeration. Whoever is in charge really needs to think about adding another staff member at this time. Or two. One star. Update: went a week or so afterwards and they've finally added more staff. 2 more! Much quicker than usual, barely any queue at all. Thanks for listening and making your customer service even better.
