I think we need to distinguish between the delivery service/drivers and the staff at the LPO. I’ve had my fair share of (not really) attempted deliveries and other AusPost shenanigans. But, the staff at Collingwood LPO are excellent - helpful, kind, generous and take the time to really help. Thank you!!!

I came here because everytime I do a quick search for the opening and close times, the 2 star does my head in. The folk in this post office are completely lovely and enjoyable everytime. And are not responsible for the sub par running of this massive government corporation. This appears to be a family franchise too. Discernment and correctly placed blame is highly needed on many of these reviews (or shall we shoot off our little internet missiles when the dog trimmer comes late and blame the little guys until the end of time). Note - not a slight on dog trimmers. That's the last thing I picked up. Cheers!

Apparently it happened AGAIN!!!! I was just sitting at home all day waiting for the parcel! They never ring, never try to deliver, just ask you to pick up at the post office, every single time! No delivery attempt, no collecting notes. I have to contact the APO online and seller if I have parcels there or not, and walk for 30min to Collingwood to collect it. Really bad. I guess ancient Egyptian carrier pigeons from BC 3000 delivered better customer experiences than this. So, last 3 weeks I was testing. I bought 3 items and used 3 addresses: 1 my house, 2 company, 3 Woolworth pickup point. Guess what? No one came. I called up APO online, they said ‘delivery attempted and failed’ - how could they possibly fail delivery to Woolworth? My conclusion is that postmen are just skipping delivery — too busy or something? It would be nice if I get any kind of notifications, phone, email or note, please. I’ve reported this issue to APO online every year but it is getting worse especially from Jan 2020 :(

Terrible with their ability to handle packages particularly in delivery. Packages never get delivered and a notice for collection does not get left behind. They are also never open on weekends which makes it difficult to pick up the packages especially since their opening hours are only at the same time as normal work hours. Service when trying to retrieve the packages is also terrible.

Absolutely useless. Gave my parcel to someone without photo ID. Who was claiming to be me...and also gave away my wife's parcel too. Total crooks. Went to the police, nothing happened due to the fact the post office is apparently the victim. No compensation given as apparently the seller needs to compensate even though it was delivered to Auspost. Recommend taking your business to Smith Street or a verified post outlet..this place needs to be shut down. 0 stars given.

I've ordered 10+ items in the last two months. Not a single time has by apartment been rung to inform me of the package downstairs. A pickup collection card is left and no genuine attempt to deliver my goods is made. Why do I pay for a service and only receive half of what's promised. AusPost really need to look into this branch and figure out WTF is going on because there is something seriously amiss here. Shame that most of the people that actually work in the store are really nice except for one extremely rude, abrasive, non-customer orientated older gentleman - you know who you are.

Plus another one, that again no note was left for, so I didn't even know it was there. Staff were rude and unhelpful as per usual!!! Not sure how I can avoid using the post, but very angry!

The sender of my parcel actually put the incorrect address on my parcel. The older bloke at the LPO was very understanding and used common sense knowing the first part of the address was correct, compared with my ID and allowed me to sign for my parcel. Seemed polite and talkative too.

Never answer the phone, inconvenient opening hours for people working normal hours (9-5), don't follow delivery instructions, don't leave parcel collection slips when stuff is delivered, only leave 'urgent' reminder slips with only 1 - 3 days notice before stuff is RTS OR for stuff that I already picked up. I have complained but staff don't seem to care. Supposedly this is the main PO on my 'route' yet I live closer to a different PO with better hours. Registered an Auspost account with closer PO as preferred pick up location yet stuff still gets sent here. Absolute joke. Zero stars.

Posties who deliver to this area do not attempt (e.g. dial intercom) to contact the person they are delivering to. I have had 5 packages which I have stayed home to collect which have not been delivered, resulting in me having to collect from the post office. Very poor experience will be using parcel lockers for most of my items from now on.
