If you are a POC (Person Of Colour) and make an honest mistake on something, e.g trying to send a parcel, you might be lucky enough to be served by an arrogant 50 something Mediterranean looking man, with a thick accent. He will presume you're not from Australia, while correcting your mistake. Stellar service :)

Horrible service and unfriendly to kids. The lady is slightly better, the senior man and the manager are terrible. Went to pick up my parcels a couple times with my boy, the men won't even say anything back to you after the kid said hi to them.My boy was talking to a nice senior man who's behind us, the manager was looking at my son like he's trying to steal things, unbelievable!!! I called 15 TIMES to enquire whether my package was arriving today, I'd received a text at 8am saying it was. when someone finally answered (begrudgingly) she rudely told me to wait until 5 and that it's on its way, the package arrived 2 days later and my daughter didn't get her birthday present. NOT GOOD

I literally get my items posted to a different address from my home in attempt to avoid the delivery being missed and my parcel getting taken to this post office for pick up. The staff here are disgustingly rude and I have never had a decent experience here. This time in particular deserves a bad review. I had to pick up a parcel and the older man served me and was having a hard time finding it out the back and kept coming back and getting increasingly frustrated at me that he couldn’t find it. I then overheard him becoming aggressive and yelling at one of his staff while trying to find my parcel for whatever reason and when he finally returned with my parcel, he threw it down on the counter along with my ID and said “there you go, next”. What a joke of customer service haha, avoid this place!

This franchise is small and friendly. It's only drawback is that parcels go astray many times. This however is not directly the Post Office fault since they outsource contractors to perform some of these actions. Once that is sorted, I'm sure 5 star ratings will occur more.

Went to collect two parcels. Lady was alright. The slightly older manager was basically screaming at this elderly customer. Some basic decent human respect needs to be drilled into that manager, customer was clearly trying his best to sort things out. Ridiculous

I’ve made a formal complaint for harassment against the senior worker from Petersham LPO to Australia Post. I’d also recommend anyone to record a video of his behaviour on the phone whenever you go there to pick-up a parcel. His attitude is unacceptable in Australia. If he cannot do his job properly, it is time to resign and move on.

I like that they're open on Saturday mornings, as this makes life much easier for the full-time worker. I did get exceptionally annoyed once to be told there was only one package to be picked up in my name, only to get home and find delivery notices for another 3 from the previous few days, requiring another trip! Appalling service, rude and insulting staff. Avoid this post office at all costs. I have attended this post office regularly for several years since moving to Petersham and I have not once had even a remotely positive experience. I have many times considered moving home to a different suburb purely to avoid having to deal with the belligerent, rude and inefficient staff at this location. Every time I receive a notification that a parcel or letter has been redirected to this office a feeling of dread washes over me and I often make inconvenient parcel delivery decisions just to avoid having to visit here. The staff often take personal calls while long lines of customers wait, they are aggressive and antagonistic when you even dare to ask them simple questions, and I have often had staff roll their eyes at me or accuse me of lying for simple miscommunications around parcel deliveries. They do not follow basic Australia post protocol with regards to ID requirements and parcel notifications, preferring to live in the past and, for example, demand parcel slips when an auspost app barcode would suffice. The woman who works behind the counter regularly demands customers wait for parcels longer than necessary, smugly tapping her finger on the “collect after x” time when you have already received a systematic notification that a parcel is ready for collection at the office. The man who works here is aggressive in a similar vein, cutting you off when you speak, glaring at you and brusquely refusing assistance whenever it is requested of him. As I work in customer service I can absolutely understand the pressures of the job and that customers can often be frustrating and rude, so I make a point to always be polite and kind to others working in similar positions. This, however, is not a kindness or consideration the staff here could ever be expected to extend to their customers. For this I rate this location 1/5, wishing I had the option to rate lower.

Have given the staff here the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions. Dismissing their rudeness as a one off, but it's simply not. They have never once been friendly or helpful. This applies to every individual we have dealt with. Not only to customers but the way the mature aged man talks to his staff is absolutely awful. Will now have to drive to use a different post office.

Parcel took 2 days to be sent from Melbourne to Sydney. It took over 5 days to move from Petersham LPO to a parcel locker located 500m away. It just seemed to sit there. While visiting the shop, I realised what a pigsty it is. Not surprising parcels get delayed. Not the first time it's happened either. I’m going to choose a new post office to get my sh#t delivered to.

Horrible experience at this post office; I had ordered something online in which I had asked for it to be left at the door, so delivery driver took it upon themselves to completely ignore my request and take to the Petersham Post Office as it would be “safer” there – the irony here is that after it was taken to the Post Office, the package was then given away to a random person with a completely different name to what was on the package... and they somehow were able to sign for it. How is that at all a “safer” option than just leaving at my front door? Cool, just take it to a place where virtually anyone can pick up and sign for you package... yep, sounds super safe. On top of this; I dealt with an aggressive, hot headed man at the post office who proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t directly his fault and then also comically yelled at me while telling me to calm down... as far as me and the 20 other people who were lined up behind me could tell; there was only one person that needed to calm down and it clearly wasn’t me. TL;DR – this post office is completely incompetent, they give away parcels to completely random people (even though you somehow need to show ID that matches the name on the package... again; incompetent) and then on top of that are shockingly rude in their dealings with their customers who are simply trying to understand where their goods have gone. I’d also like to mention that the staff in this place are ALWAYS unfriendly and never inviting, I get anxious every time I need to go there to be honest ... if you don’t like your job, then get a new one, IT IS NOT MY FAULT YOU WORK AT A POST OFFICE – your happiness (or lack thereof) is in your control and should not be taken out on innocent customers who have every right to be upset by the fact that you give away their packages they’ve spent money on.

Wow, the service I just had the pleasure to experience has given me hope for Australia Post Offices! I walked in 30mins before closing & submitted my passport renewal. The gentleman serving me was friendly and fast: I was done & out within 5 minutes. Thank you so much! A stark contrast to Post Offices on the Northern Beaches! My husband had to go through hell in getting our children’s passport renewals past the incompetent dim-wit gate-keepers at local Post Offices. It took no less than four attempts, each time each PO would inflict a different interpretation of the sizing parameters & reject the photos. Each time we had to reprint & get our kids’ photos signed by a witness(!). Petersham PO put you to shame!
