Aust Post Insanity My mail was not arriving at my new Bathurst address so I posted myself a letter from the Bathurst Post office. At the counter I asked how long it would take to get to my letter box. The embarrassed postal clerk told me three days. What, Three days, I could crawl there in 2 hours. She explained sheepishly that the letter would go to Sydney to be sorted and then come back to Bathurst to be delivered. Now here’s the interesting bit. If you pay $0.50 extra we can deliver it tomorrow for you. Ok I said and paid the extra. Then I checked my mail box the next day. Nothing. The next day, still nothing and then finally on the third day my letter arrived. Clearly Australia Post is run by idiots who have mastered economic rationalism and gone stark raving mad. I feel sorry for the staff who do their best to keep customers happy when their idiot masters do crazy things like this.
